Grant 3 Special Wishes for the Care Leavers of Canterbury this Christmas… – Wise Words
Led by Canterbury's Poet Laureate, Lemn Sissay MBE, we are creating a scrumptious Christmas Day Dinner in the heart of Canterbury for 25 young people who, like Lemn, grew up within the care system and are now alone. Guests will be picked up by taxi, and driven to a stunning venue in town. A Christmas dinner will be cooked by a fabulous chef, and their Christmas stockings will be stuffed high with top-drawer gifts. Everything is being gifted by the local community. We have 2 weeks left! Can you help?

The Canterbury Christmas Dinner
One of our Christmas Dinner guests is a young care person who was brought up in the care system and who would be spending Christmas alone. He cycles everywhere. His bike is his only means of transport but it’s broken. He doesn't have the skills or anyone to help him fix it. We would like to help hm fix his bike with new wheels and brakes and maybe some super accessories that will make it feel better than new! Do you know someone who could help us?

The Canterbury Christmas Dinner
CAN YOU MAKE THIS BOY'S CHRISTMAS SPECIAL? This year the Canterbury community, as part of the Poet Laureate Programme, is hosting a magnificent Christmas Dinner for care leavers. One of our guests is aged 19 and his life's passion is sport and football. He has trials for a new club this season and we'd love to boost his self-esteem and confidence on the pitch. Can you help us make this one he'll never forget? We'd love to give him some brand new boots or the latest kit that he's never had, or even a professional development or coaching session. If you could give vouchers from a sports shop or have contacts with a football club or a coach, you could make this happen! Can you make his Christmas one to remember?
